Billiards, also known as pool, is a game played by people everywhere. To put it very simply, the game requires the players to use a stick to hit balls into holes. New York city has many indoor places where there are pool tables to play on, although you do have to pay money to play on them. These tables are regularly next to a bar or some other indoor games like table tennis or foosball.

Space Billiards on 34W 32nd st is actually a bar in the middle of manhattan with sets of pool tables right next to it. I went there with Beta Alpha Psi, a fraternity who hosted an event there. Although I am 18 and not allowed to drink, I was still allowed to play pool on the side. The place was dark but had many people in it and loud music. Everyone was either having fun playing pool or having a bite to eat. Because it was a school event, the majority of the people there were around 18-22 years old.

We formed pairs to have teams and then played a sort of tournament against everyone else. There were about 10 other teams. I lost the games I played in since I had very little experience but it was still fun to play.

There are many places like this all around the city and they are a great place to relax and have fun indoors.
