How to write a “Close Reading” essay (from 3/1)

One of the options for Essay#1 is to write a “Close Reading” essay on either a poem we have read, or a single passage from either The Life of Lazarillo de Tormes, or Life of a Sensuous Woman.

We have already done some “Close Reading” exercises in class. Below you will find a link to the “Close Reading Help Sheet” we worked on in groups on Wed, 3/1. The worksheet also specifies how to turn your ideas into a CEA style body paragraph, and it includes a potential outline for what a “Close Reading” essay written in the CEA style should look like.
