Fall 2019 Diversity Pipeline Career Programs Panel & Networking Event

The Fall 2019 Diversity Pipeline Career Program Panel & Networking Event took place on October 29th with  331 students attending the event. The event was hosted by the Baruch College Starr Career Development Center along with cosponsors SEEK, Success Network and Urban Male Leadership Academy, enabling students with terrific fellowship, internship and leadership development opportunities. Event sponsor Google hosted an informal breakout networking session, presenting students with the opportunity to introduce themselves to recruiting partner and Google representative Jodie Taylor.

The two part event first had undergraduate student leaders moderate a Q&A discussion with panelists belonging to a number of organizations, namely INROADS, America Needs You (ANY), Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), SEO Career, T-Howard Foundation and Modern Guild, followed by a networking session with each of these organizations.

The panelists took the opportunity to speak to students  about professional development along with  introducing students to each of their diverse programs. Each program offered students one-on-one mentoring, workshops, coaching and internships for extensive career development. Panelists emphasized the fact that these programs offer students belonging to diverse backgrounds with career opportunities for future development. Multi-talented Baruch students Chelsi Hurst – NABA Baruch President and ALPFA Baruch President, and Hector Cardona also offered  Baruch students advice about joining leadership programs by sharing their personal experiences with a few of these programs.

The Starr Career Development Center would like to thank all of the staff, faculty, volunteers, students and participating organizations for making the Fall 2019 Diversity Pipeline Career Programs Panel & Networking Event the success that it was.We look forward to further helping students expand their horizons and will continue to host events like this one throughout the academic year.
