In Stanley Kubrick’s film “A Clockwork Orange”, the music that Kubrick used had significant impact on the film. There were many comparisons between the music that Kubrick chose and the images of the film was playing.

The Protagonist Alex DeLarge was a big fan of Beethoven. He was especially fascinated by Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in D minor. The Symphony No. 9 in D minor was a positive, cheerful symphony which was brimming with hopes and joys.Ironically, the image showed up in Alex’s head when he listened to this composition were full of vicious,cruel, bloody atrocities. by describing the way Alex appreciated the music, the scene revealed the sanguinary nature of Alex. Moreover, the song symbolized Alex desires which eventually brought him great agony.
Moreover, the music in the movie also served as a element which exposed Alex’s identity. Alex sang “raining in the rain” when he and his friends were beating up a old writer and raping his wife before he went to the jail. Ironically, the song unveiled who he was when he was saved by the old writer. The he was being revenged and tortured by another song that he loved.
