Orwell in his “Politics and the English Language” criticizes contemporary English style for its horrible and inaccurate use of language. He also points out some awful and just terrible writing that went on to be published. Orwell says people use long passages where metaphors and unnecessary vocabulary are used without knowing their true meanings and this gives the whole passage no meaning
Orwell points out that writing isn’t about writing complicated things, it’s about simplifying them. “Language is thought and thought is Language” and our main concern is that we are forgetting all that. In today’s world, we believe anything that is published but we fail to realize that not everything that is published is credible. Ultimately Orwell wants people to realize that we are the one making English style worse and we are the only one who can do something about it.
