Journal #1 Entry #1

I have always seen reading as something done for leisure and in general I don’t really like over analyzing books, however  in Rosenwasser’s readings he made it clear that understanding and reading to become conversant is ultimately the goal. I on some level know that having information at our fingertips as opposed to having it memorized wasn’t a bad good thing, but I had no idea that Plato also thought that in the future having information easily accessible would be bad for our society. I had also never considered the fact that taking something that i’m trying to analyze and breaking into little pieces not only makes for a better analysis but that sometimes it could lead to an entirely new idea. Another thing that I never took into account was how big of a difference there is between the form of communications. I would always try and convince myself of things, instead of trying to convince the audience of my idea.
