Not many people would consider their online presence as being a citizen. I know I wouldn’t but if you think about it is a good term for the simple fact when you go online you are in a completely different world. I do consider my presence online and have made choices in which I wonder how it would effect others and how I can help others. An example is reporting people on Facebook for things I believe shouldn’t be online, yes, I am one of those people. I believe in a safe cyber world. I believe that as a cyber citizen you should be able to spam and help take down what should not be there and also helping out other cyber citizens or sharing ideas like I am now.

About TANYA TANIS

Hello everyone my name is Tanya Tanis but most people call me Tiny. I was born and raised in Brooklyn,NY which influenced my creative side a lot. I began to dance and sing when I started middle school and pursued it through out high school. Then i got into more of a party scene amongst teens which influenced me to go into business as well did getting involved with ING investment challenge. Through all my experiences with working with teens and planning i learned that I loved planning and budgeting and investing money for a return profit which is why I wanted to be a business major. There is Money to be made working with young adults who if you really look barely have any real stable night life or places they can gather. I am very observant person and very outgoing but I can be stern as well and stubborn as well, but also very fun and funny.

I agree that when people go online, it is an entirely different “world.” However, I don’t think there can ever be a safe cyber world. If you report one person, there are probably ten more just like it. Even if you do report it and it does get taken down on Facebook, it still leaves a trace in the cyber network.

That is true but I believe why search for something that should not be there that is not beneficial and harms the cyber world. If we all tried to be more positive things could be achieved.

The internet has gotten so big that it’s to the point where it is difficult to regulate. A safe cyber world would, in my opinion, only result from massive government censorship. This is not likely to happen due to our freedom of speech rights, and a large up-roar from the general public.
