Cain, being jelous of his younger brother Abel’s favor from God over him, killed him in the field. God, angered and saddened by feeling the anguish of Abel’s blood in the ground, cursed Cain that forbidded him from his agriculture keeping. Before he was the tiller of the field while Abel was the keeper of the sheeep. Now to punish Cain for his actions, he will never be able to yeild strength from farming ever again. This could be interpreted as him having the plague of famine and drought; bringing this bad omen wherever he went.
Cain of course was in shock that not only can he not preform his lifes duty, but now his existence will only bring lifelessness wherever he went. Cain pleaded to God that he would be killed because of his curse. God’s resolution was to put another curse on Cain that if someone were to kill him, vengence shall be taken on his killer sevenfold. Although teaching a lesson, God was a bit remorseful by shielding his life or maybe even prolonging Cain’s life to maximize the decree of exilation.
Gods are not always the nicest entities. The other child born to Adam and Eve is Seth and from here, (wherever all the women came from), this is where genesis indicates that the human population began to grow. But with Cain being one of the leading ancestors, with already many descendents, god felt humans were becoming more negative and now more evil tendencies are spreading. The decendent of Cain, Lamech, in self defense, he killed someone. Lamech even stated, “If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold – then Lamech seventy seven fold.” Now God is trying to repent for the mistake he made. He made a covenent with Noah to spare his family and 2 of every animal. Wanting to completely rid of the impurities in his test of creation, god flooded the Earth for 40 days. When the flood was over, Noah, his wife, his 3 children and thier wivess are now the ones who were left to repopulate the world along with the animals and start new

God’s Wrath Over Cain
Cain was one of two sons from Adam and Eve. The other son, Able, and Cain always tried to compete for God’s affection by giving him sacrifices. Although Cain’s offerings were always more, God always favored Able due to the fact that Able gave him more of a percentage of what he owned. In this jealous rampage, Cain actually kills his brother. God finds out about this and punishes Cain for the rest of his life.
Cain, for killing his younger brother, was cursed with the inability to farm again because God took away all of his strength. This symbolizes that God is all most powerful. It also shows that you have to do the right thing because if you don’t God will make your life a personal hell. The way this is written, it comes off that God can do whatever he pleases and if you do anything that upsets him, you will be held responsible for it. In this reading God obviously shows off his power but why does he do it to the extent he does?
God shows off his power over Cain because the story wanted to show you that you can not just go around committing a serious offense in the eye of God, in this case, it was his brother he murdered that made God upset. Cain tried to hide from the act he did this, but God, who proves he is all-seeing, finds him and exposes him for what he has done. Then God took away probably the most important thing to a farmer, his strength that is actually needed in order to do daily farming activities. This shows that even though God gave you these abilities, he can take them away just as easily if you make Him upset. This passage shows off God’s supreme ability over man and He uses the punishment against Cain as a warning to anyone else who wants to do wrong and go against Him.
