“Digital citizenship is a term that describes how a person should act while using digital technology and has also been defined as ‘the ability to participate in society online’.” Being a digital citizen means that one is involved in social media or anything online.
Personally, I have never considered the responsibilities of being a digital citizen. Being a digital citizen in the modern world is like being born, it is a natural occurrence. The responsibilities of being a digital citizen have to do with being appropriate on the internet; not exposing any material that may hard anyone. They must use the online resources available to them appropriately and not harm anyone while doing so.
Being a digital citizen is quite normal, but difficult to explain. The rules and regulations of being a digital citizen is not completely spelled out for everyone to see all the time. However, we all know our responsibilities to our community as digital citizens. A digital citizen would have many responsibilities to his community. He should not abuse the resources given to him so that everything could be fair for each of his peers. He should also consider the effect of what he does and how it could affect the community in any way. He lives in this community, so he should be thinking about how to protect it.
