Journal #5: Digital citizenship

My stance towards digital citizenship is that its a way for someone to be a part of a global community and sometimes (anonymous or not) try to make an impression on this community. I personally have considered the responsibilites of my digital citizenship and what I have posted may sometimes seem a bit controversial on things like instagram so I always to keep my settings to the maxmimum private. A good digital citizen should try to show a good attitude towards others and help progress the expanding world of the interwebs.

I also feel this term digital citizen will maybe eveb evolve and into a  new terms of actually being a citizen in this globally connected online world, owning online currency and property and do business works through this transfer of information. It is hard for any American citizen now a days to be undocumented and in some computer system somewhere and is already in this network of servers. Everyone is now more documented and much personal information can now be widely displayed. Although we  are gaining this new form a digital citizenship of having assets in this virtual world, our real world experience can be more endangered as well.

Much digital citzenship involves fraud of impersonators trying to be someone who they are not and may cause slander or liable issues. In addition to do this, some pedophiles may try to lure underaged kids to their homes. This new world we are coming into is allowing for information regarding things from personal  matter easily able to be shown to the world and hackers are just waiting to find out more. I present myself in a positive way to my peers on open sites like facebook but I have a party fun doing crazy sruff side I keep on the dl.
