My favorite part of the book so far is when Buck dies. It is ironic a violent moment in the book is my favorite part. I feel like that part of the story was so sentimental and had a lot of emotion it was just an, oooooo moment for me. Buck was close to Hucks age they had similar names and he had simalr tendencies to Tom. Maybe that is why Huck was so drawn to him.
The death of so many people in so many little pages over something so mundane as two people trying to join together was ridiculous to me. How could such a young boy be drawn into a family feud hat he himself did not understand the root cause of. He died knowing that his sister had ran off with the one she love and as long she was happy he was happy.
After being shot in the back along with his young cousin i thought they would’ve survived but the story took a turn for the worse and better where both family members died in front of Huck which I feel taught him a lesson or too and also was traumatic. It made him appreciate what he had way more which was JimĀ and value the essence of life. Since he could not even talk about what happened i feel like he will grow up damaged a bit but i loved that part of the book.
Nice post! As you said, it’a pathetic that Buck lost his life for a reason that he wasn’t sure of. but the deaths of Buck and his family members led Huck to realize the preciousness of friendship (Jim), and the raft became their home and protection.
