My favorite part of the novel so far was when Huck dressed up as a woman to obtain information about his supposed death. Huck introduces himself a Sarah Williams from Hooverville and starts talking to the woman about a variety of things. I particularly liked this part of the novel because it was fun to read since it showed us Huck’s conning side and it also shows us how a woman was able to out-smart a man.
Huck’s cons are always interesting to read because it’s like reading “a story within a story within another story”. He creates all these different identities and scenarios that I find interesting and fun to read. His cons keep me interested in the novel because it truly shows Huck’s immature yet clever personality. He makes you wonder where his imagination comes from. It’s also funny seeing how bad of a liar he is. The woman was able to suspect him from the very beginning and was able to out-smart the con artist. This was another reason why I loved this scene since this part of the novel was able to portray woman as smart and intelligent people.
