Romin: Romin did a really fantastic job as he quotes from the book and reads the text with the Southern accent. By going this extra miles, Romin puts his audience into the context as we listen to the southern accent and imagine what’s happening as the story progresses. In addition, he seems more relaxed and able to deliver more details at his own pace.
WJ: WJ should have more eye contact and not reading directly from the script as lacking of eye contact would diverge the listeners attention to the script instead of him. Moreover, I would suggest that he should put himself into the story and show more enthusiasm for his part.
Michelle: Michelle breaks the invisible wall by confidently showing her knowledge and passion for this presentation. Moreover, she eloquently presented her ideas and thoughts on the relationship between Finn and Jim.
#Sivilization
Amanda: She skillfully presented her point of view of hypocrisy by quoting from the prologue. Though there were some mispronunciation of words, she did a great job in general. Her emphasize on the word “sivilization” represents her central idea of that the intellectualism is the missing part in the novel, though Finn tries to be as educated and sophisticated as possible.
Ryan: Ryan identified five examples to show his idea of hypocrisy through out the novel. In particular, I think his focus on Finn’s struggle for survival and the contrast between good christian are more notable than other factors as the characteristic of a good christian is someone who has the right sense of morality and ironically, many good Christians are also slave owners who violates human’s nature rights.
Curtis: Curtis managed to illustrate the fact by thoroughly understanding the story without recalling from his script. In the video, he mentioned that the gang reserved Sunday for church and do no evils. This represents a distinct contrast as it shows that the group wasn’t totally serious about doing vice activities as they still have morality.
Andrew: Andrew summarizes the group presentation. Throughout the video, he uses various hand-gestures to emphasize his idea and thoughts on the project. Andrew also points out very subtle details from each of the chapters and connects them to form a more structural understanding for the audience.
However, I would suggest that he should have more eye-contact and interaction with his audience by looking at the camera more.
#too good to be true
I like Oscar’s innovative opening as he spins in the chair and capture audience attention. Moreover, Tanya and Niel did a great job by systematically laying out their point of view and they both have much confidence in the presentation which is really a plus point.
