Looking back at journalĀ #4, all those posts ago, I remember being intrigues about the idea of broadcasting your thoughts as they come to you and posting them for all to see. I was excited to see how this would play out in a novel with a large group of people and am not disappointed at how it turned out.
Although I was never a user of twitter prior to taking this class I knew what it was and what a phenomena it was. Now, I think I know why. Its just one huge categorised mess of thoughts and random crap. You can post what you want and no one can stop you. You hit “tweet” and all of a sudden you just published something, changed the world slightly with your 140 characters of less. I feel that our class really used twitter proactively, we brought something with slightly more meaning to the interwebs and maybe even educated a few people with our brilliant ideas.
Through tweeting I was forced to sit and think while reading, come up with something to say that was worth sharing. This broadened my ideas and interpretations. I also liked being able to view what others were thinking while reading; if they reacted the same way or thought a different thing.
Overall, I enjoyed this tweeting adventure and feel like it really added to my Huck Finn reading experience.
