According to teachtought.com, digital citizenship means “the quality of habits, actions, and consumption patterns that impact the ecology of digital content and communities.” I have considered the responsibilities of my digital citizenship to a certain extent. Technology is becoming an important part of our daily life and technology makes our life much easier. I personally get a lot of new information from technology and I use it as reference for anything that I am unaware of. However, at the same time, improper usage of technology by certain individuals also puts me in great risk of scamming, invasion of my privacy and so on. Keeping those dangers in mind, I try in my best accord to use technology according to the appropriate norms that would make me a proper digital citizenship.
Just as we get a lot of information and services from others through technology, we also have an obligation towards others as a digital citizen. These responsibilities include several small things such as usage of technology for the sake of gaining information or just to have fun. It also include giving respect to what others has to say on the internet and giving credit for the author if you use their work. So, although, at times I tend to be ignorant of my digital citizenship, I tried my best to follow the appropriate norms and responsible use of technology.
