100th Mitsui Lunchtime Forum
This past Wednesday marked a landmark event for our Mitsui Lunchtime Forum series. At our 100th speaker event, we were joined by the President and CEO of Mitsui & Co. (USA), Mitsuhiko Kawai. Mr. Kawai was introduced by the director of the Weissman Center, Dr. Terrence Martell who discussed the forging of the relationship with Mitsui USA by WCIB founder George Weissman two decades ago. He also remarked at the rarity of maintaining such a longstanding relationship and opportunity for cooperation with a company.
President Wallerstein commended the partnership between Mitsui & Co., USA and the Weissman Center for International Business for “educating the leaders of tomorrow” and providing a link to the business world for students.
Mitsui & Co. USA is present in 12 American industries including retail, IT, and mineral and metal resources. It has locations in 69 countries and has 155 offices all over the world. In addition to sponsoring the lunchtime forums, the company offers scholarships to MBA students studying international business and hosts the International Business into Classrooms: Practioners in Academia program.
