Learning goals
By the close of the Literature Review Workshop, students will be able to:
- Understand how the audience, purpose, and conventions of a literature review compare to other common genres of academic writing
- Analyze scholarly conventions for writing about sources and consider how different strategies affect audience interpretation
- Practice reviewing existing literature, including organizing sources, identifying a unique contribution, and writing focused research questions
- Identify strategies for organizing and writing a literature review within the context of a larger project
