Week 1 Update

Hey everyone,

The internship I am currently involved in takes place in the law firm of Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft. This week my internship has me completing some changes and as well as adding several new links and forms to several portions of the Intranet. There have been more additions lately because there is an increase of demand from employees to have easier accessibility to more departments’ information and forms. I also have been working on making the sites for the different offices to be more uniform and cohesive. Many people have had problems working the different pages because they expect everything to be in the same place as the others, however that is not the case.

Some of the things I have to do to help make these pages more cohesive is by asking the people who are having trouble with the pages what will help them work the pages more easier. However at the same time I have to appease the wishes of the people of that particular office or department. It has been a bit of a learning experience how to balance the wants and needs of both groups of people. I learned I can not make everyone happy but I can try to meet people in the middle.
