Week 11

For my internship this week, I mostly worked on marketing initiatives. I updated two more Adword ads, changing the description of the ad as well as the landing page. For one of the description, I added easily and free to the description as I think people respond to the ads more when they see those keywords. I know when I looked up ads with the same keywords as our ads, those ads captured my attention more. I think people generally want something free and easy to navigate. For the landing page, I added an orange click to action button on the top fold. There was a regular linked text on the top, but I don’t think people notice it much because it blends with the rest of the text. I added the button to lower the bounce rate and cost/convention and hopefully increase conversion.

For my side project, I mostly worked on the slideshow for my portfolio. I tried a lot of different tutorials and websites. Finally, I found something that works and I can easily customize. So, I put up my work already.

As for my independent study, I played around with the design of my resume, letterhead, and business cards. I also started the style guide. The one I started designing is the logo section. I started writing it up and putting the layout together.
