Honestly think the paper is very good, probably one of the better things I have written. I really enjoyed working on something I really had interest in and introducing new ideas on a topic that I cared about. All though the paper didn’t receive the grade I think it deserved at the end of the day and I’m frustrated by it I didn’t want to bend my ideas and change my vision to pander to another opinion that I thought personally was wrong and would effect the paper in a negative way .Personally I thought almost all the comments on changing the papers content were bad ideas in them self they didn’t take into fact that its a paper on the film and film study not the real life people. To me it felt as if I had just painted a beautiful Monet and then someone came along and said it would be better if you added more waterfalls, people like waterfalls. I also received criticism that the paper was double the word length and a-lot of it could have been cut. To this I can only say that I thought since it was a thousand word requirement a two thousand page paper to flesh out my ideas fully on a topic while providing real commentary that would engage a reader and make them think. Mistakenly I thought the inclusion of quotes and specific scenes would have been a nice thing to give readers some context but since the criticism was to cut the paper down these could have been removed as they do take up a-lot of word, of a word limit that Im still not sure what it is. The transitions were also a big criticism and I admit at points it’s a bit choppy but considering the topic the work is on it wasn’t a small undertaking to map all of this film history out then seamlessly transitioning from one idea to another without droning on. The grammar could also use some work but with so little time to turn out these papers stuff is gonna slip by especially since it’s never been my strong suit. Overall the paper was cathartic to write and I enjoyed it, but Professor Singleton didn’t like it very much so it’s a box office flop and back to writing about walking boys.
