The Irish Flag
Harold Faber’s article in the New York Times discusses an Irish Heritage Museum in East Durham. The purpose of the museum is to promote having a broader knowledge of different ethnicity and to educate people about Irish culture. Thomas F. Harrington’s goal in this museum is to preserve Irish culture and remind people of the contributions the irish have made to American society. The museum was designed and organized in 1986, but didn’t have somewhere to be put until 1990. A lot of thought and hard work went into this museum to ensure it’s success and to make sure it’s main goal is accomplished. The contributions made by the Irish to American society is sometimes forgotten, and this will bring those contributions to the surface once again.
