Pregnant Without A School Policy in Graduate School

A student, pregnant in a Medical school program, is perplexed at the lack of school policy for pregnant students, even though half the students at her school consist of women over the age of twenty-two. The lack of specific policy on the subject of pregnancy, has left some students “at the mercy” of their professors who either, consider the student’s situation to be something they have imposed on themselves and should not warrant special treatment or believe it is something that should be accommodated and even encouraged due to risk associated with having children later on in age.
