Colleges to Change Admissions Criteria?

Colleges have long demanded high scores and good grades from their applicants, to say nothing of extracurricular activities and volunteer work. However, Bard College may be the start of a new trend, allowing students to submit a series of four research papers to prove their worth. Difficult though the papers are, they provide a new opportunity to make an entrance.
