Mississippi Tells Public Schools to Develop Policies Allowing Prayers

This article addresses the policy, enforced by Governor Phil Bryant, which “. . .requires public schools to develop policies that will allow students to pray over school intercoms , at assemblies and at sporting events.” This topic was very controversial in the aspect of separating church and state, also considering the fact Mississippi is a religious state. Some thought this policy was unconstitutional. In regards to the policy and concerns with religion and school, one individual even stated if people considered ” . . .what if it’s a different religious prayer than my child’s faith?”
