With more disposable income, it allows Americans to go overseas to experience the cuisines of other countries. Many would want to relive this experience.

One chef named Scott Serpas, who works at Sia’s in Atlanta said,People today are pretty well traveled, or they’re open to trying different things…always looking for something that’s new and exciting” (Roberts 2001).

International traveling has open the doors to new food cuisines and the acceptance of them. According to the US Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, Tourism Industries Office, in 1998, 56.3 million US residents traveled overseas and since 1992 has grown every year. Many of these people who have traveled find that one way to relive such an experience is through food (Roberts 2001). According to the ITA,  Office of Travel and Tourism Industries, “US Citizen International travel grew four percent in August 2015”. There is an increasing trend of travel, for the most part, from year to year. Also “US citizen outbound totaled 7.0 million travelers for the month and 50.0 million YTD
Travel up Seven Percent Year-to-Date”. “U.S. travel to overseas markets totaled 2.9 million, up seven percent in August and five percent for the year (22.6 million)” (ITA: OTTI 2015).  Here is a chart that relays the data on US citizen international travel data from August 2014- August 2015.
