Fortnite Monument
What makes a memorial successful? There are many different points on what makes a memorial successful such as, open to the public, accessible, but the most important is that it signifies something. What will attract someone. A memorial needs an emotional connection in order to hook people in. There have been many successful monuments. Although the Fortnite monument is irregular it will be an effective memorial because it would be public, accessible, and has a connection to over 3 billion people.
The fortnite monument will attract more people than ever. This generation is all about memes. Most people nowadays recognize a good meme. The monument will basically be one giant meme that will attract people across the whole globe. About 80 million people per month play Fortnite, but what about other games? Fortnite is just the start. The overall point of the monument is to bring together gamers and remember the good times where many have started, Fortnite. Many people’s closest friends are from a game. They tell them everything because they are sometimes socially awkward and are shy in person. This is why games helped so many people. Those who were alone from being unable to communicate with others gain confidence hiding behind a screen. The amount of bonds formed from games is unimaginable and it’s hard to picture what the world was like pre-gaming. The cross between real life and games will draw in a huge crowd creating a successful memorial.
There is currently no physical monument for the gaming community and that is what needs to be changed. Gamers make up a tremendous percentage of the population making up around 40% of the world. Games having an impact on such a huge amount of people, but having nothing physical to memorialize gamers is absurd. This is why iot is necessary for us to create a monument. A way to create a successful memorial is to release it at6 the correct time. What is a better time than after most games peaked in 2021 and there are no other memorials yet. I believe this monument will help many people progress socially and overcome their social awkwardness. The fortnite monument will be the first physical gaming memorial with many more to come.
Why stop at Fortnite? There are many more games out there that bring in many new users every month. Depending on how well the Fortnite memorial goes we will start planning other monuments. Each state’s top game will get a monument the bigger the state the more monuments. This will lead to a game where you have to take a picture with every monument. There would be repeats, but some states will have multiple games depending on how big the state is. The monuments will be a great way for gamers to interact and go for coffee or lunch IRl, in real life. It could be like a Pokemon-GO type of game and you earn points for your journey. People could pay for advertisement stands near the monument that money would go towards the app that people could use the money based off how many points they have from seeing monuments. Excess money would go to helping fight depression in teenagers because that’s what games do. They fight depression.
Fortnite saved many people that were deeply depressed and suicidal. How many peoples lives were saved from playing a game and talking to others. That is why I love gaming so much. If you encounter a negative person you could just join a different lobby in a game and meet new people who are usually more positive and want to be friends with you. Fortnite is a great therapy for people struggling to make friends and teaches them social skills they did not have before. Games do not save everyone. That is why the excess money from the advertisements by the monuments will go towards charities that help people who are struggling with depression. Other games have also saved others like minecraft gaffe people meaning in their lives they put hard work and effort into honing their skills. They created worlds and put hours into them. Today’s world would appreciate the hard work done on games and will even have people strive to be like them.
Streamers and content creators are top advertisers for new games. Most gamers dream to be like their favorite content creator. They make money doing the things they love. What more could someone ask for. There are many content creators that have passed away leaving their fans heartbroken. Each monument will have golden plaques on the back with the names of content creators who have passed away. Depending on where they’re from will decide which monument they will go to. Obviously the monument would be filled up quickly so there needs to be a criteria to get on. There would need to be a large fan base that was growing to keep their legacy going. Content creators will directly be connected to these monuments and attract more attention from family members that didn’t play games.
This monument will be successful because it will keep expanding, the gaming community keeps on growing, gamers are deprived of being social physically, the app to travel to each monument and make money, and the monuments will even attract non-gamers. This is a project that has never been done before and is original. Between advertisers and gamers support money will be raised for the depressed in order to help them. This will bring the gaming community from helping online to helping others in real life. The app would be called connection because it would help gamers make a physical connection with other gamers. Companies will be able to sponsor the app and give out free products as well; attracting even more people who just want free stuff. This would most likely take a couple of years, but would be a successful memorial to Fortnite and all other games. This would be one of many successful monuments, but would definitely stand out.
