Final Reflection

I feel like my writing in general has improved ever since the beginning of this class. I say this because with the feedback provided and being able to make corrections really helped me. I was able to look back at my work after my writing was graded and make possible improvements. I felt like my goal at the beginning of the semester was to enhance my writing and just write better overall. I felt like this goal is somewhat met because with all the exercises that we learned I found most of them really helpful. I also liked the amount of resources that were provided to us like the felt sense guide, etc. Although I feel like my writing has improved, my writing can always use some improvement. Sometimes I just don’t feel too confident about the flow of my writing. With more practice, I believe that my writing will improve more and more.

One piece of writing that I felt the most proud of is the literacy narrative. I feel most proud of that piece of writing because I was able to write about a sport that I am passionate about. I felt like the literacy narrative was an easier piece of writing to write because I was able to write about a story/ experience that was significant to my life. I spent more time on this piece of writing because I had more to write compared to the other pieces of writing. I am just proud that I was able to connect my favorite sport to literacy. The literacy narrative was the one piece of writing that I enjoyed writing the most. Overall, I feel proud that I was able to connect my favorite sport to the writing and it worked out.

On the other hand, one particular piece of writing that was challenging for me was the rhetorical analysis essay. I felt like that was a challenging piece of writing because it took me a while to come up with a movie to write about. It was especially challenging because I don’t watch that many movies so I didn’t know what movie to pick that would relate to one of the theories. When I thought of a movie to write about, it was hard to remember what the movie was about. To solve that, I had to do some research to remind me about the movie. Throughout the essay, I felt like I was repeating some stuff so I had to think of new ideas to write about. To me, the rhetorical analysis essay had the most requirements so it was kind of hard to fulfill all of them.

Overall, I thought that the class was well organized and I felt like it went by really fast. The class was really organized because for every assignment we had the perfect amount of time to learn some stuff, go over the assignment, and do the assignment. I thought that the class was a really safe environment to learn. Although we had a lot of essays to write, I thought that it was really manageable and I mostly felt prepared to do the essays with all the resources and the lessons prior to doing the assignment. Overall, I enjoyed the class and felt that I learned many new skills.
