Final Reflection

Honestly, when coming into college I was at first a bit nervous and didnt really have any goals in mind. My only thought process at the time is to do my work and get it over with. It was only halfway into the fall semester that I actually wanted to challenge myself and see how far I could go with my writing skills. I was never really good at writing or reading i actually preferred math when i was young. But as i slowly grew up I found writing and English to be more fun and interactive than math. I set a goal for myself, I told myself once a week to write at least 1-2 pages of my inner thoughts, nonstop writing just letting my ideas flow onto the paper. By the end of it, it was quite fun reading my thoughts out loud.

One piece of writing that I was proud of would be the literary narrative. I was proud of writing that piece because it was based on how literacy impacted me throughout my life and how it shaped me to be who I am today. It was the easiest essay for me because it was an essay based on my personal experiences so it was just a nonstop stream of sentences that came into my mind. Writing it felt smooth like a flowing river and every sentence had so much detail packed into it. After I was done with the essay it was similar to taking a peek down memory lane since I was remembering all these past events that happened to me.

One piece of writing that was particularly hard for me would be the rhetorical analysis essay. It wasn’t difficult but more tedious because I didnt know what movie to write about since I wasn’t that big of a movie watcher and could only pick from a handful of movies. I was stuck at certain points when writing my essay and didnt know what to do until later on. I wasn’t as detailed and descriptive in this essay as I was in my other works. I felt myself repeating words and sentences I’d already used before. This is why i believe that the rhetorical analysis was one of the more challenging essays to do.

Overall, this was a very fun class and if i had the opportunity to i would choose you to be my professor again. The students in the class were very nice despite the morning class having only like 5-6 people. I will have to say that I wish the starting time of the class was a bit later maybe like 8:30 or 9 am but all in all it was a fun experience.
