Hello everyone. My name is Shum, Marines call me Wu Chen or “Wooch”, and friends call me Willy. I recently separated from the Marine Corps and came home to New York back in May. As you can see from the image posted, I really enjoy cycling. The ability to hope on a machine and take yourself somewhere with your own two legs is pretty amazing. The ride is relaxing and feeling the wind hit your skin makes life a little more enjoyable. Whenever the weather permits, lets go on a ride together!
I think it’s amazing to be able to transport yourself on your own two feet as well. I think open air transportation really is the best way to get around if the distance permits, it’s just so fun and environmentally friendly.
I really enjoy cycling also! The ability to take yourself somewhere on two legs also incorporates an environmentally friendly aspect to it while retaining the amazing feeling. However for me, I absolutely love biking on the city streets with the vehicular traffic. Not only do you get to feel the wind hitting your skin, you get to brush past all these vehicles stuck in traffic and build some adrenaline from having moving vehicles so close to you! Good luck this semester, and hope to see you out biking when the weather gets better!
I second (fourth?) what Daiki and Alex mention about how this is so cool to just get on and “go” with your body (which is different from, say, a car…since *you* are the fuel source). I really need to try cycling out since I can’t really run any more (bad hip). An especially good hobby right now with the pandemic.
