Hello, what are you doing here? I’m boring sometimes and bored almost all the time. Nevertheless, my name is Darian Chan. I just began my college experience after taking a break from school to join the military. Yes, it was the most grueling and fun experience I’ve had so far. I like being free and not giving a care in the world most of the time, so I chose to represent myself with a mischievous cat who purposely knocks over a cup. My personality is quite similar to cats because being lazy is often in my life style. If I have nothing better to do, I’d be laying in bed and watching shows all day long. However, I can be really productive if I’m doing things I’m interested in and I know when to get serious. Not that I literally knock things over, but I envy how cats always receive unconditional love from their owners regardless of what they have done. That’s because they are cute and fluffy. But, I agree with that. They are too precious of a fluff ball to punish. I can’t wait to have my own cat in the future and watch shows with her all day long.  I love cats. Oh, I also like boxes too.

  1. Hi Darian. You said your personality is similar to that of a cat because you often find yourself feeling lazy. I think that I and definitely other people in this class can relate to that. How did you get through the laziness when you were in the military? What branch were you in?

    • I joined the Marines. You have no say during boot camp. I was being told what to do every day so there was no being lazy. It was tough so I just had to push through. Especially when it was difficult and being the number one target on my instructor’s little “kill list”.

  2. Ha, cats are fun creatures. You mention you feel less lazy when working on things you are interested in. What would be examples of that? Welcome to class and I’m looking forward to reading more from you!

    • I enjoyed art class back then. I actually worked on perfecting what I wanted it to look like instead of goofing off during class. Boot camp was another one, I thought all the combat training was cool so I tried my best to not fall behind.
