It would be a cold morning in August where I would receive a message about a coffee shop that serves cups of iced or hot drinks for only 2.50. I thought finally a source of warmth that didn’t cost an arm or leg, but I doubted it. I tried it on this cold morning which proved to be a dull drink that was cheap. Months go by and I think back to the idea of that coffee shop, maybe if I can find ” the one” I will finally have good mornings. After another cold month of trying different drinks, I decided I would try a hot chai latte with half and half. The second the spice of chai mixed with the thickness of half and half with the taste of cream, I knew I found the one. This discovery shaped my cold commutes into warm mornings. it wasn’t long before I found an option to add additional shots of flavor to the drink, it would take 2 and a half weeks for me to go through all the flavor shots. Sometimes two separate cups every two days a week I would add and enjoy Vanilla, Hazelnut, Caramel, French Vanilla, Sugar-Free Vanilla, pumpkin, chocolate, and strawberry Syrup(in order of most to least favorite). I have it almost every day and yet it still never gets old, like if it was the same morning i first found it.

I love drinking coffee too. I have a cup of coffee every day. Instead of buying it, I wake up a little earlier to make a big cup of coffee. I have to expand my flavors because I drink mines with just milk and sugar.
Man you need to tell where this place is, 2.50 for coffee is rare to find especially here in New York City where in your local Starbucks it is about 8-12 bucks. However do not get me wrong it is amazing especially when you add ingredients like Vanilla, Hazelnut, Caramel. Every morning I make myself a hot dark coffee to start the day especially for school.
It’s impressive how you stayed committed to finding the right coffee and the right flavor. Did you ever feel like giving up on finding the coffee that you wanted at that store?
I like all the details you gave in this post; the was you told your story was very engaging and I was able to really understand your need for a good hot drink. I’m glad you finally found your everyday drink (vanilla is my favorite add on flavor too).
I like how descriptive your writing is, reading this gives me the yearning for some good coffee. Finding coffee for $2.50 is so difficult in Manhattan so this place seems to good to be true! Have to try it.
