James Koloniaris Week 6 Neighborhood Analysis

For as long as I can remember every single time I leave my house, I pass this lake in my neighborhood. Every morning I hear the geese and see my elderly neighbor feeding them breadcrumbs. During the spring and summer families sometimes have little barbecues and picnics by the lake. It acts as the central hub of my neighborhood. Some people look past such things with the interactions you can have with people in your neighborhood. This lake brings my neighborhood together. People of all ages and of all backgrounds have created many memories here at this lake. There have been proposals here and even breakups; it’s a part of the life of my neighborhood.

The overall beauty and serenity of the lake draw you in. During the winter when it’s frozen over you still come to enjoy its presence. On the snowy days when the lake is covered with snow, It brings a certain joy I can’t explain just by the sight of it. You go there to enjoy the scene and you hear the laughs of the kids sledding down the nearby hill, reminiscing of when I was that age. The overall feel of the lake demands your attention year-round and brings back so many memories as I pass it every day.

What I added adds more detail. It also introduced another example of the lens of ethos. It relates to big events in people’s lives and shows great emotion.

  1. Great work, James– these additions are exactly what drew me in. I get a sense not only of the physical space but also its effect on your soul and on the soul of your neighborhood.
