- At first, I felt like my paper flowed well and was really good. After I looked it over and discussed it with professor Thompson I realized I was vague in some areas. Throughout my paper, there are terms used that many might not know what they mean. They can be defined for the actual meaning by most people, but in terms of muscle building, they can mean something totally different. So I went back and revised and gave a better explanation of the meaning of certain terms. For example, I used the term fluff which is basically the excess fat you gain while in a dirty bulk (when you eat all types of foods to get past your daily calorie intake). I didn’t give the description I just mentioned I just used it assuming people would know what it means.
- According to Lunsford and Ruszkiewicz, academic integrity is defined as giving your sources credit when using their information. Plagiarism happens most of the time when one isn’t careful. They may be trying to paraphrase an author but can’t think of any way to make it sound just as good as the source material. At this point, the individual should just quote the source instead of paraphrasing to avoid an ethical issue. One slip up and you can ruin your reputation as a writer. People will always second guess “Oh are these their words? or did they plagiarise again?”. This is something someone definitely does not want, so properly citing and giving authors credit will prevent any of this and strengthen your ethos.

- After reading Lunsford and Ruszkiewicz and familiarizing myself with Ede’s method. I revised the article ,I wanted to introduce and elaborated every idea. Instead of giving examples. So I made the beginning of the body paragraph a central idea. There are three in total, but these three ideas all support my theme. And move the citations to the end of each paragraph. Make the whole thing look more organized.
- Lunsford and Ruszkiewicz define Academic integrity is to give due trust to data authors. If a source is cited, it should be credited. It’s easy to be accused of plagiarism if it’s not. Moreover, academic integrity is not an academic issue, but an ethical one because. If a person inappropriately quotes another’s article without attribution. Say it’s your own article, then it’s an ethical issue.

- One thing I revised from my research based argument was changing my topic so that it corresponds with my sources. Originally, I wanted to write about the beauty standards in the 1980s to modern day. I was having a hard time finding sources with this specific information. So instead I decided to search beauty standards in general and got more insight on what other things affects society besides looks. Racism, sexuality, and mannequins was some of the things I found influence body image in our society. So my topic will now be how does restrictions in beauty standards affect people in our society.
- Academic intergrity is refers to quoting and paraphrasing at appropriate times. If you decide to paraphrase but most of it resembles the what’s in the source you can possibly be accused of plagiarizing. Essentially, you are taking credit for someone else’s work making it seem like you came up with that idea. This is why it is important to cite. When you use citation you are using someone else’s idea in your writing but you will not be accused of plagiarizing.

1-An aspect that I had edited within my paper was while I had summarized the otherisde of my argument. Which was the way a healthy use of Social Media looks like, and how it may benefit one’s mental health. The only reason for the summury was for a nice natural and smooth transition, instead of pulling a quotes or part of the paper. In addition, I also partly summarized What addiction look like from the perspective of one of the others. Also, I added on how the others authors also agree with him.
2-Both authors Ruszkiewicz and Lunsford, define academic integrity as giving rightful credit to the authors of sources. In addition they also find academic integrity as a ethical issue rather than an academic issue. For instance, plagiarizing can be an easy task if the authors work is not accurately cited. In addition, Ruszkiewicz and Lunsford both agree that accurate citation is an ethical dilemma. Simply due to the fact that if a writes improperly cites another’s work, you’re then claiming it as your own work.

- After reading Lunsford and Ruszkiewicz and familiarizing myself with Ede’s method, I revised my paper to give more credit to my sources. Although I cited the websites in a bibliography, I hardly gave my articles credit in the words of my paper. I also decided to change some words in my essay to make it less similar to the words of the article, although I am highlighting the same point. I also now understand that quoting a source is for its well-written language or complicated concepts, but also for agreeing or disagreeing with an author.
- According to Lunsford and Ruszkiewicz, academic integrity is defined as giving your sources credit when using their information. This will enhance your ethos. If you find yourself stuck on trying to paraphrase something that the author said perfectly, just quote their words to provide the best information and credibility possible for readers. Plagiarism happens if you’re not careful which can create the ethical issue, said by Lunsford and Ruszkiewicz, of claiming another’s work as your own.

Something I revised in my paper was the repstive language I used when quoting an author’s text. I often found myself using the word “claims”. After reading Lunsford and Ruszkiewicz, I found a list of signal verbs to use such as replies, expresses, and discusses. I also revised some of the quotes I placed in my writing and replaced them with quotes people will find interesting. This is key to keeping the reader’s attention. Finally, since a huge part of my research based argument comes from summarizing information I learned, I decided to use more of my own words opposed to the author’s to keep my language objective.

Lunsford and Ruszkiewicz defined academic integrity as both an ethical issue and academic one. When you are writing an argumentative essay, you may find yourself having to give an author’’s opinion. In this instance, it’s best to directly quote the author’s words instead of parag[hraing what they said in order to eliminate any bias you may use when rephrasing their words. When writing a paper, you use outside sources all the time. It’s important to make sure you cite the work you have borrowed to the best of your ability to enhance ethos in your paper. It’s not just an academic issue because stealing someone’s words comes down to how well you can be trusted as a writer. Nobody will want to read or believe your work if you are known for stealing sources and ideas.

- Something I revised in my paper was when I summarized the central idea of a passage. Not only did I summarize the long passage I also used evidence from the passage to back up my summary. I did this because I felt that summarizing the passage instead of just using a small section of it would be more convenient in my paper. Acknowledging the fact that the article supports my argument I took that to my advantage and shortened it up for the readers to get a sense of understanding, they would also get an idea of where my paper is headed. I also quoted a couple of my sources to back up what I had to say about my argument.
- According to Lunsford and Ruszkiewicz, academic integrity is giving proper credit to the creators of different types of sources. It is extremely easy to be accused of plagiarizing if a source is not properly cited. Even a small picture that was used on a piece of work could be accused of plagiarism for the simple fact that it was not properly cited like it should have been. Lunsford and Ruszkiewicz feel that proper citation is an ethical issue because the writer who does not give proper citation is technically claiming that as their own work, which is not. That is considered to be an ethical issue.

I personally think it is better to preserve a cultural History writing with our home language Because when you write something in your own language, you can portray your own feelings and you can spread your own as much as possible with your own language rather than using another language. However, I think when you write something in your language you can translate it into English if you got a better response from your home people. However, it depends on individuals’ choices about how they desire to write. For example, Ngugi mentioned “That thinking made me say no — from now onwards, I’ll be writing in my mother tongue” So he argument was in favor of his home language. On the contrary, Ruhsdi argued about how English is a very important language in Indian since they contain English as their main language in school. In my personal opinion, I think language does not matter until you have something to spread your message in large size of population
