At first, after entering my room, you will notice a shelf or shelves for holding books and notes. Standing a simple three feet tall probably, it monitors the entryway of my room as a quiet guard. Its double levels have been relentlessly reordered to house everything in a tasteful and proficient way. Next to my study table, the bookshelf is almost four years old. Starting from high school, it is still alive and carrying my all notes and memories of living in New York City. All my notes from three years of high school and Olympics are kept on the first three shelves while the other two contain my favorite books- literature and Science Fiction. At the bottom of the shelf, the two brown color drawers are almost two feet long while the shelves are almost twenty-two inches long and sixteen-inch in width. Now, at the top of my bookshelf, all my medals from sport, Olympics, and other competitions that I have participated in the last four years have been kept in an organizing way from least to highest.
However, the pandemic has really made the bookshelf ill-fated. Before entering the online world, I have always bought books and kept them on the shelves but the pandemic generally kept me out of books shops, it didn’t keep me from online ordering. Today, I have two bookshelves, one on my mobile phone and laptop, and the other one is that ill-fated which I barely touched once in a week or more from the last two years. But I still prefer my four years old bookshelves and I desire to read one more time taking out my most favorite book ‘The Kite Runner’ from number four shelves.
While analyzing this object I think I never think about my Bookshelf like the way I analyzed it. I never measured the shelf but now I am aware of that. It’s really nice that I have kept all my books and note collection on the shelf for almost four years. But to be honest, the hardest part was measurement the shelf.
