In my home, there is a brown clock. The clock is large, approximately two feet in diameter. It has a dark brown, wooden frame surrounding the clock. The numbers are written in script and only have the numbers 12, 3, 6, and 9. There is a large handle most likely made of plastic and painted a rich brown color. There is a sharp arrow pointing to the time. The clock has been in my house for over 18 years. It was given to my parents as a housewarming gift.
The clock may seem like an ordinary clock, but it is constantly being observed. Even in a world where we all have our phones on us 24/7, it is still used. The clock has an effect on our household. For starters, it’s huge compared to a standard clock. You can’t help but be reminded of the time constantly when you’re in the kitchen. The clock is also 10 minutes ahead, which makes my family on time for most of our events since we tend to forget it’s set forward. The feature of this clock that stands out the most has to be the sound the clock makes. If you listen carefully, it’s constantly ticking. The fact that my family is talking and we can still hear it clicking reminds us of the time.
The easiest part of this assignment was describing the object. However, this was also the hardest part because after staring at it for a long time, I thought I couldn’t identify anything else, and then something else would come to me.
