FRO13 CRA

The Enrichment workshop was a great experience. I learned a lot about why it is important to help out the community and volunteer. When one volunteers or does something good for others, it makes one happier. When I volunteered at the 10K swim in September, It was a great experience. I was able to motivate swimmers to finish the race, and help then as they cross the finish line.  During the school year, I work with kids at an after school program. This is a job and not a volunteer program however it still makes me happy when I’m helping kids do their homework. As well as doing homework with them I also play different games with them, tutor them, and take them swimming. As hectic as the day may be, the kids always have huge smiles on their faces when I help them out, and that always makes me happy at the end of the day.

This photo greatly represents my experience in college so far. I am definitely liking the college experience. It is great knowing that I am in control of my life now.  Luckily I have been able to end class early however this first semester has been a bit stressful. This image says it all. While in college it is very hard to get good grades, get a full nights rest, and have a social life. I’ve learned that I have to give up some things such as my social life (unfortunately) to do well in school. Especially during midterm and finals week, most of my time will be devoted to studying and trying to do well.

Hi my name is Maria. I was born and raised in Russia, and currently live in Queens, NY. I consider myself a very optimistic and laid back person. I am very determined to do well in school and get a good job in my future. I hope to succeed in life and find a great job so that I would have enough money to travel the world. I do not know exactly what I want to do in life, however I do know that I want a math related major. Sadly, It takes a long time for me to write essays. I’m definitely an outdoor person and I always need something to do. I love planning things ahead of time, and try to experience as many things as I could. I try to “Live in the moment” and make the best out of life. I always smile, and try to bring out the positive side of any situation. I love traveling and going to new places. One thing that I think is interesting about me is that I have been to Alaska and France! I like to listen to all different types of music. I chose songs that are upbeat and songs that I listen to put me in a happy mood (:
