Hi everyone, my name is Michael Sukram. I was born in the United States, but both of my parents were born in Guyana, that makes me Guyanese American. I was raised and currently live in Queens, New York. I would say I am a very laid back person but I do get serious when it counts. I am very shy and scared to talk to new people, but once you get to know me I am very talkative. Honestly I am a kid at heart and I can’t believe I am in college already. With all these decisions that impact our life’s, I feel like I am not ready to make them. Though college is very scary and daunting, I am up for the challenge. Family and friends are the most important thing to me. They are my support group and I am theirs. I want to be successful and be the greatest person I can be. I want to make my parents proud and give back to them all they have given me. The playlist i created tells a lot about me. These songs motivate and inspire me. These songs show my determination and drive to be someone in life. I love all these songs and I hope you will too.

Hi guys, my name is Vincent Wang. I know this blog post is late, and this is a great example of what kind of person I am. I’m a very forgetful guy and I’m very unorganized. This is something I want to change especially because I am in college now. I am Chinese. I spent my whole life in Brooklyn. I went to Brooklyn Technical High School and I was in the environmental engineer major. A lot of students from Brooklyn Tech ended up attending Baruch so I see a lot of familiar faces everyday. I think it’s pretty easy to get to know me and I’m very outgoing. I love to smile and laugh. When I have free time, I’m usually hanging out with friends, playing ball in the park, or working out in the gym. I used to work at Carvel but it took up a lot of time so I quit for college. The music playlist consists of many different genres and I think that shows a little bit of who I am because I like a little bit of everything. I’ve very open to new things.

Hey everybody, my name is Wilson Tam. I was born in America, and my heritage is Chinese. My parents are from Hong Kong and I have one older sister who is currently attending Boston University. I live in Staten Island and attended Staten Island Technical High School. Although I live in Staten Island, I enjoy hanging out in many different boroughs; especially Brooklyn. My favorite hobbies are chilling with friends, playing sports, and driving.  The songs I chose, I chose because I like them and for no other reason. It’s a pleasure to meet you all, my name is Yoshinori Andy Shinohara. Yoshinori is a combination of my fathers name and grandfathers name. Andy was my fathers favorite name because of the brand “andy-boy”. My dad is the store owner of a japanese cuisine restaurant in soho and when I was born they stopped ordering from that company, thus it became my english name. My parents were both born in Japan while my siblings and I were born in New York City. I am fluent in Japanese because while attending elementary,middle, and some of my high school years, I attended a Japanese saturday school. There I learned what the students in Japan were learning except that for me one weeks worth of school work was compressed into 6 hours. I attended 2 high schools, but I graduated from Cardozo high school. I really liked high school even though I didn’t do much, except slack and bum around. I like to have fun no matter where I go even if it the most tedious thing ever. I wish to get far in life after college, but I have honestly no idea where I am headed to even though I am in a business college. I still have not been able to grasp the fact that I am a college student. I am the type to not choose things until the last minute. So until the very last minute I will try to have as much fun as possible. Yes, it sounds very irresponsible but this is the way I figured works best for me. Under some conditions in life I may choose a new way to live life but for now I am going go through with this. I am very anxious about the future that lays ahead of us, and I wish you all the best in life.

Hey there, my name is Sarah Olivo, I’m 18 years old, and I’m a Christian. My family and I are from the Dominican Republic and I can honestly say that I take pride in my roots. I love the spring and summer time, the beach, my family, and the flavorful and spicy Spanish music that derives from places South of the Equator and in the Caribbean. My Hispanic roots only contribute a small part of my entire composure. Raised in Queens, New York my family and I have had our fair share of experiences that have gotten us to where we are today and have contributed to shaping me into the person I am now. Growing up I never had any older siblings to look to for guidance or advice and as an older sister I’ve realized that the best guidance and advice that I can give is to lead by example. My job requires me to do much of this since I work with grade school children. They may be a hassle and test my patience constantly but they’re witty humor and innocent comments (such as suggesting that college emails only work when we’re in college) always remind me why I love what I do. I consider myself to be undecided when it comes to my career and although childcare seems like an option its not the only thing I would like to limit myself to.

As of now I’m just trying to enjoy whats left of my dependence. As strange as it may sound, my dependence on my family is something that I see as assuring and protective. Independence means a lot of self reliance and complete responsibility for my actions and decisions as well as their consequences. The future is a scary thing but completely inevitable and the most that I can do is approach it slowly and cautiously with a positive attitude and worry-free mindset, besides, worrying never makes anything better, so why bother, right? Above all I take great pride in my faith and also consider it to play a huge role in my life. The songs that I’ve chosen are those that I feel round up who I am as well as some of my musical interests.

Hi my name is Maria. I was born and raised in Russia, and currently live in Queens, NY. I consider myself a very optimistic and laid back person. I am very determined to do well in school and get a good job in my future. I hope to succeed in life and find a great job so that I would have enough money to travel the world. I do not know exactly what I want to do in life, however I do know that I want a math related major. Sadly, It takes a long time for me to write essays. I’m definitely an outdoor person and I always need something to do. I love planning things ahead of time, and try to experience as many things as I could. Hey guys, my name is Lisa. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I’ve never been out of NY before, and I’d love to visit new places. My parents are both Chinese, which makes me Chinese, too. I come from Brooklyn Technical High School. Even though I was in the Environmental Engineering major in high school, I don’t plan to do anything in that field. As of now, I’m undecided in what I want to major in ): I love funny things, and I love to laugh. I feel most comfortable around people who take things lightly and aren’t too serious about the non-important things in life. Throughout college, I hope to achieve many things. I want to become someone who knows she is and what she wants – someone who’s completely self-assured and not afraid to take any path in life. Most of all, I want to make something of myself so that my parents and grandparents can be proud of who I’ve become. I have a long way to go before I reach my goals, but I try to better myself every day.

I really love listening to music, which is why I decided to include a playlist in this blog post. I listen to music most of the time when I’m at home or on the train, and I even listen to it while I sleep. Music is a beautiful thing, and I think life would be quite bland without it. The music I usually choose to listen to  depends on my mood. I also don’t like to limit what music I listen to, because if I do, how would I know what I really like? My  name is Sam Jin. I was born and raised in New Jersey and have come to New York for school. I am Korean-American and have a younger brother. I chose the songs I chose in the playlist I made because they’re a rough outline of what my music tastes look like. In a way, you could say that I just chose a bunch of artists that I like. However, I know for a fact that the music I’ve listened to has shaped me indefinitely. Hey guys! My name is Niloy. I was born in the United States but both of my parents are from Bangladesh. I live in Queens, New York. I would describe myself as someone who is very optimistic and tries to make the best out of any situation. I truly believe and live by the saying that “everything happens for a reason.” Although I may come across as a tad bit quiet and shy, I am really a friendly person! I’ve always taken school very seriously and I’ve always been motivated to do my absolute best. I’m currently undecided on what I want to major in but I’m hoping Baruch can help me find something that I’m not only good at but something that I also enjoy. Whatever it is, my number one goal in life has always been to be successful. Not only for me, but also to repay my parents for all that they have done for me.  Family and friends mean everything to me and I could not have asked for better people to be in my life. So I created a musical playlist that is mostly filled with songs that I believe either relates to me or ones that motivate and inspire me. I’m a fan of most types of music but I particularly enjoy listening to pop and R&B songs. Hey guys! I’m Karina, nice to meet you all. I’m Dominican and Ecuadorian. Let me tell you about myself. Honestly, I’m just a regular kid. I will always be a kid at heart; afraid of growing up. To think that the decisions i make now will affect who i am in the future is a really big responsibility. It was all easy when we were kids; i think everyone would agree. No worries, no stress. But, i feel as though we don’t necessarily have to change who we are. I love Spongebob, and don’t you forget it! I honestly have no shame. I’m a goofball, i can laugh at almost anything. But that doesn’t mean i don’t take things seriously. I actually take school very seriously, as well as any other type of work. I owe this to my family, who have always been there to support me in any type of situation. I love them and can’t live without them.I don’t know where in this world i would be without their support. Even my younger cousins give me confidence in my future. I follow the saying, “fall seven times, stand up eight”. Now matter how hard things may get, i know that i should never give up. So i guess this is me. I’m outgoing, i love food, I’m a goofball, i love football (jets fan), etc. I hope you guys like the video, i just added this to show, in a way, my kid side (starring my little cousins).
