BLOG POST #3

First semester went by too fast. The future is very frightening especially to freshmen because it is such a big transition from high school. I learned that in college you really have to rely on yourself. There are some classmates and professors that will help a bit here and there but in the end, you’re on your own. You have to make your own decisions because it is your future. Sometimes when all your friends are out on thursday because they don’t have school on Friday, you need to make the decision to stay home and sleep early because you have class at 8:15 in the morning on Friday. To be honest, first semester wasn’t as hard as I expected, as long as you pay attention and study, but it’s only going to get harder because there’s more to do and harder classes to take.

The enrichment workshop was very entertaining. Volunteering not only brings smile to the faces of the people you help, but it also leads you to a happier and healthier life. In the video, Stephen said that certain illnesses like asthma can be suppressed by volunteering. In my life, I’ve volunteered twice, and both cases was because I had to, for school. I’m definitely going to try to volunteer more if it does promote a healthier life. What surprised me was the fact that after watching the video, Stephen stood up and was actually there the whole time. He’s funny and informative, and probably inspired a lot of people to volunteer, like me.

Hi! This is Vincent Wang, and I’m in group 1. My group decided to change the theme from economy to sports because sports is a lot more entertaining. Everyone has their own favorite sport whether it be tennis, or basketball or soccer. We decided to used those sports because they relatively the newest information on sports in NYT and we know they are very popular. Also, the basketball tryouts just took place like two days ago. Also, in the bearcat post we talked about how Baruch is undefeated in soccer. Baruch has a lot of students with a lot of athletic talent. Everyone loves sports.

Hi guys, my name is Vincent Wang. I know this blog post is late, and this is a great example of what kind of person I am. I’m a very forgetful guy and I’m very unorganized. This is something I want to change especially because I am in college now. I am Chinese. I spent my whole life in Brooklyn. I went to Brooklyn Technical High School and I was in the environmental engineer major. A lot of students from Brooklyn Tech ended up attending Baruch so I see a lot of familiar faces everyday. I think it’s pretty easy to get to know me and I’m very outgoing. I love to smile and laugh. When I have free time, I’m usually hanging out with friends, playing ball in the park, or working out in the gym. I used to work at Carvel but it took up a lot of time so I quit for college. The music playlist consists of many different genres and I think that shows a little bit of who I am because I like a little bit of everything. I’ve very open to new things.
