The enrichment workshop wasn’t something I was looking foward to because I had to stay longer in school than usual. I went into the workshop knowing nothing and left with a new perpespective. The professor talked about how helping others is basically helping yourself, because you’ll live longer. You’ll feel better about yourself and won’t become depressed. People who help others have a more positive mindset and feel happy with life. After hearing the professor’s words of encouragement, I realized that he was right. It did felt good when I helped the eldery during my new york cares project. It only took a small part of my time but made me feel good about myself. The professor helped a lot with improving our look on life and volunterring.

Blog post 3
My reason for choosing this picture as my Baruch Experience so far, is because I feel as if all I’ve done every week is writing papers. There isn’t much homework everyday besides reading the textbooks but towards the end of every week, I will have to start writing at most 4-5 pages of paper. I hate it and it can be stressful. I don’t remember ever having to write so many paper in such a short period of time before, so college has been a new experience for me. I can’t wait for the upcoming breaks and the end of the semester so I can get away from the paper writing, and the one and a half long to get to Baruch college.
NY Times Reflection Blog (Blog 2)
The topic that my group chooses for our New York Times project was Technology. The theme of our blog was a new beginning. Since there are also new technological advances in the world today, it can also count as a new start for the world. As freshmen entering college, we are situated in a brand new environment and finding ways to become accustomed to life in college. Events such as club fair can help new students feel welcomed and part of the environment at Baruch. Meeting new friends and being part of a club can add to a better experience at Baruch College. The technology articles that I picked are new advancements that can help ease college life. For example, a cell phone case that can charge your phone easily. Instead of looking and borrowing a charge from Baruch College, the cell phone case can easily power up your phone. My role in the group project was the group facilitator. As the group facilitator, it was somewhat stressful because all my group members depended on my instructions and leadership. I was responsible for anything my group achieves and fails to achieve. It was my responsibility to guide my members through the project and help them when they’re having trouble. Since everyone in my group was either working or busy with their personal life it was difficult to contact them. I tried my best to explain the project over the internet but not everyone is available to listen, or it was confusing. The New York Times project helped influenced my understanding on news literacy by giving me a deeper insight on the field. I can understand how an article is organized, why it was published, and who the audience of the article might be. Overall, the New York Times project has been helpful towards my first semester at Baruch.

Amy Wang – ENG 2200, Monday & Wednesday (9:30am – 10:45am)
Dear Professor Smith,
I am in your ENG 2200 class that meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 am – 10:45 am. I am having difficulty with one of the papers that you assigned. After rereading the instructions and requirements for the paper, I am still confused on what I should write my paper on. Will you please explain the requirements of the paper for me again? Sorry for the inconvenience. I am looking forward to your reply. Thank you for your time.
