This blog post is about my experience of the Enrichment Workshop we attended on Tuesday November 19th. I found the workshop very boring to be honest. I thought the workshop would teach us something, but I could barely hear any of the speakers when they were talking. I didn’t know what I was going to, and I still don’t know why I was there or what good came out of the hour I spent there. I think it was about happiness, and how we can become happy if were not, for instance by doing good deeds such as volunteering like we did when we did the New York Cares Project. The man on the video was talking about so many different things, and the question round in the end was in my opinion pointless as half of us could not hear what he was saying. This might be my own fault as I sat all the way in the back. Nevertheless, I was there and was happy when we could leave after the workshop was over.

This picture of Gabby and Amy represent my experience at Baruch so far as it shows some of the people that I have met. I’ve really enjoyed my first months. I am very relieved that the classes have been somewhat easy and that I am doing good. I have been learning a lot both in my classes, but also outside the classroom. I think I have learned more outside the classroom to be honest. This is probably because I am an international student and I am coming to a new country and city. I have learned a lot about the American culture and I think that my English is improving everyday. This is is also my first time living alone which has been very interesting. Baruch has given me the opportunity to go to school here in the city, and I am loving it. I can’t wait to come back after Christmas and enjoy the city even more!
COM 1130, TUE/THU 9:30AM – 10:45AM
Dear Ms McCall,
This is Eline Andresen and I am currently in your Communication 1130 class, who meets at Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30AM to 10:45AM. I just received my transcript with my grades for the 2013 fall semester. According to this transcript, I got a B+ in your class. I believe that I deserve an A- in your class as I have never missed a class, always been on time and handed in my assignements on time. I have also contributed to a good class enviroment, by contributing in the class discussions and not causing class disruptions. I hope that you see where I am coming from and can look over my grades one more time.
Please let me know on your decision at your earliest convenience.
Thank you,
Eline Tangen Andresen
Communication 1130 Student

New York Times, Blog 2
Our group selected the theme music for the New York Times project. We decided on this theme as it has such a big impact on our everyday lives. Most of us listen to music for hours every day when we walk to school, work out and do homework. I wrote one article on how music can be associated with academic achievement according to recent studies. The other article I wrote relates to the theme as it talks about why we listen to sad music. I chose these two articles as I find both of them very interesting and relatable to the theme. I love to listen to all types of music, and I know how much it can change my mood. Music does make a difference!

Who am I?
These pictures describe who I am as a person and where I am from.
I am the youngest of 3 kids, which has had a big impact on my life. I’ve always been my parents little girl, and I still am.
I have a very close relationship with my family, but especially with my father. He is incredibly positive and a big support. He is always there if there is anything. My whole family is incredibly supportive of me, which I don’t appreciate enough unfortunately.
The «person» I miss the most, is my dog. She is 13 years old, so I’ve had her since I was 6 years old – so basically my whole life. She means everything to me, and I love her to death.
I am from Norway, which I think most you know by now. Norway is a beautiful country, but I wanted to experience a new place, and I have always wanted to go to New York.
My friends are also extremely important to me. I love being surrounded by fun, loving, caring and nice people – which is bascially how I would describe my friends. The first picture is from the «Russ» celebration we have back home the last month of our senior year – and it was the best month of my life. It is a huge thing where I am from, and has really become a part of our culture. I have a lot of friends, whom I love and love being surrounded by. I miss all of them so much, and I can’t wait to see them again.
