I was not expecting the enrichment workshop to be very interesting or helpful but I was pleasantly surprised. We were shown a video about how helping others often makes us feel better and even live longer. The professer used the phrase “It’s good to be good… and science says it’s so.” I like the phrase a lot and I think it is 100% true. In my personal experience I do find that when I do something nice for someone else for no particular reason, it makes me happy. I felt this way about the NY Cares project and this workshop inspires me to volunteer again.

Baruch Experience
My time at Baruch can be described with this picture because it is a new beginning. I’m starting a new point in my life and it is very exciting. So far I have enjoyed my classes. They are very interesting and I like the teachers as well. I have made new friends who I also learn from. It is fun to be friends with people from different places. I have learned new customs and languages. It is also a lot of fun to go to school in the city. There are so many places to eat and hangout with friends. College has made me even more responsible because everything is on my shoulders. There is no one standing over me, making sure I do my work. I look forward to my next three years at Baruch.

Dear Professor Williams,
I am in your Math 2300 class, meeting Mondays and Thursday from 9:00am to 10:15am. This email is regarding the B- I received in this class. I believe I should have received an A. I always came to class on time and prepared. Also I completed every assignment and took every test to the best of my ability. I hope you will reconsider my grade.
Thank You

New York Times Reflection (blog 2)
In my group we picked the theme “diversity” for our New York Times front page. We picked this theme because it is something important to everyone in our group. We live in one of the most diverse cities in the world and think it is important to embrace that. Baruch is also a very diverse school with people from all over the world. The articles I did were about the fight for diversity in an Alabama College sororities and the belief that diversity is important in a company called Accenture Ltd. This experience influenced my understanding of “news literacy” as very important. The news is a good way to spread the word about an important topic. The article about the Alabama College will hopefully call attention to the lack of diversity in sororities all over America. I believe the news is the most effective way to make a change in something. As a result of this project I will pay more attention to important news stories around the world.

My name is Gabriella Good. I am from Middle Village, Queens. I live with my mother, father and my cat. My cat’s name is Baldwin and he is fat and beautiful. I love my cat more than anything in the world. I am an Italian Catholic and went to a Catholic highschool, St. Francis Prep. The most important things in the world to me are my family and friends. I always make sure they know I love them and respect them. My group of friends has known each other since we were in Kindergarten. We love to go out to the movies or just hang out and watch tv. I love all types of music from country to house music. My favorite singer is Adele. My dream is to one day go to an Adele concert. I also love to watch good television. All the good shows on tv that everyone talks about, I watch. I am a very organized person and can’t stand when things are messy. I believe I am a reliable person and a hard worker. I like to laugh and don’t take things too seriously. I think the most important thing in life is a sense of humor. My hope for the future is that I do well in school and can join the business program. I would like to be a successful businesswoman. I am excited for what the future brings.
