1. Our group’s presentation was not too complicated, we just picked random articles to share articles. Also, the person who blogged about the article, read the article.
2. Overall, I thought the presentations were fine but I was a bit nervous.  I would have done much better if I wasn’t nervous because I already knew what to say before we got up and presented.
3. I learned that I still need to work on presenting and public speaking.  I believe that as I get more experience presenting, the better and more comfortable I will become.
4. First, I tried to understand what their presentation was about.  Then, I tried to see if both their articles and pictures related with their topics.
5. Watching my peers was both entertaining and interesting because there were some funny presentations and there were also presentations that were about something that I already followed.
6. I learned many different things from all of the presentations.  For example, I learned about things like technology, food, and sports.  They all were very easy to learn form because they were topics I was interested in.

Facebook recently created two search tools for news organizations and marketers to use. One of these tools will enable news companies and marketers, to type in keywords such as ” NFL” that will bring up public posts by users that relate to the search.  The other tool will enable them to look at anonymous data that is posted through private posts.  Through the use of these tools businesses better understand what interests users, thus, allowing them to create better advertisements.  The main reason why Facebook created these tools was so they could surpass Twitter as the leading platform for online public conversation. Although these tools help Facebook gain popularity with businesses, many users dislike these changes in privacy policy.  I  believe that these changes will end up hurting Facebook because many people liked Facebook as it was and if Facebook keeps changing policy continuously; they will begin to decline in popularity.  While Facebook should adjust to what is popular,they must also keep some of the things that got Facebook to where it is today.

Title of the Article:  :”The Numbers Behind Twitter”

Twitter has recently decided to try to go into public ownership in order to make more of a profit.  According to the article, they made $317 million last year but also lost nearly $79 million.  Not surprisingly , 85% percent of its profits came from advertisements and 65% of that profit was made from mobile Twitter use.  Only a fourth of the user are American and the rest are international users. However, Twitter made more revenue out of advertisements on American users profiles than on international users.  They made $2.17 on Americans compared to a mere 30 cents internationally per user.  There are many factors that contribute to this issue.  For instance,  they aren’t well versed in international advertising, there are more government regulations, and international users often use devices that only allow limited Twitter functionality.  These are issues that Twitter must resolve quickly because they soon will be losing more money and start facing further financial difficulties.  Such as damage to operating results that would decrease its popularity among social network users.

Twitter has been one of the most popular social networks  over the past years.  This social network has been essential for casual social communication but also for the growth of businesses and the spreading of news.  Currently a large portion of Twitter’s profit comes from the advertisements which are seen by its millions of users.  However, if users don’t log on to twitter, they can’t see these ads, thus, causing Twitter to lose money.  According to the article, the quality of people’s posts is affecting the profit that Twitter receives from advertisements.  Although, the company has seen a growth of 44% during the second quarter of this year compared to the past year.  But as said by the article, Twitter is facing market saturation, therefore, the company is beginning to trying to acquire more users outside of the United States . In order to try to keep the attention of current users or grab new users, Twitter says that they will focus on keeping celebrities, sports figures, politicians, etc. on Twitter because of their influence on users.  Twitter believes that users will go where the celebrities go.

The first slide on my presentation is a picture of my favorite professional sports team, the New York Knicks.  I have watched almost every game for the past seven years and I am anxious for the  start of the season in November.  The next slide is a picture of an Xbox 360.  I have been playing video games for as long as I can remember and some of my favorite video game genres are shooters, action/adventure, racing and sports.  The third picture is one of my favorite cars the Lamborghini Aventador because it is so well-built, looks great in many colors , and is obviously very fast!.  Next is a picture of a crystal clear white sand beach. I love beaches like this one because you can see through the water even if your not shore and also because in some of these beaches the water is still no higher than your waist, even if you’re already several feet from shore.

Furthermore, the fifth picture is a picture of a vanilla milkshake, one of my favorite drinks all of time.  Although, I have no favorite place to get this milk shake, I love them really cold and really sweet.  The sixth picture is that of one my favorite shows in the last few years Supernatural.  I love this show not only because the main storyline is intriguing but also because of all the funny non- main storyline related parts of the show.  The seventh picture is a picture of a place of relaxation.  I never been able to completely  explain why I like to sit outside in a rocking chair or lie down somewhere to take a breeze, all I know is I like it!  The last picture is of my favorite comic book/ movie character Batman.  My favorite thing about Batman is his stealth and the cool gadgets he has,  which makes him one of the best heroes.
