Music is a very important aspect of my life. I look to music for inspiration, for comfort, to put a smile on my face, or simply to relax and cool down for a bit after a long day. These songs have come to give meaning to my life in different aspects. The song Michelle by the Beatles was the inspiration for my name, so in turn it has affected my life greatly. Float On by Modest Mouse, The Middle by Jimmy Eat World, Drive by Incubus, and Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes are all songs I have listened to, to get my spirits up, and to remember to keep focus when I’m put in an upsetting, or hopeless situation. On the other hand songs such as If Today Was Your Last Day by Nickleback, What I Got by Sublime, and Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd tell a story of being grateful for life as it is, and to live with no boundaries, for life could end at any moment. This brings parallels into my own ideas of how life should be, and that not one moment should be wasted or regreted. Stand Tall by the Dirty Heads, is a song about that not only reminds me of great times Ive had with my friends, singing along and seeing the Dirty Heads live, but it inspires to stand up to the challenges I face, have faced, and will face. The last song Lucifer Effect by SwizZz ft. Hopsin ties up how my views on the world in comparison with myself, I see many people as being stuck in a propaganda influenced life, but that leaves me stuck in it as well along with everyone else. These are the 10 songs that embody my life, thoughts, and inspire me to be more.
