The trip to the enrichment workshop at the Rubin’s museum was very nostalgic for me. I used to go to that museum a lot as a kid but I found that I was unaware about many aspects of the museum. For example I found it interesting to learn that the stairs were placed in a way to represent the trip to a mountain. I also learned a lot about how golden sculptures were made and was able to relate that process to what I had learned in art class about the lost wax technique used for bronze Greek sculptures. The museum trip inspired me to look up more about Buddism and Indian culture because I found it fascinating. The museum trip was really eye opening and a great opportunity to learn about different cultures and religion as well as reflect on some aspects of what I actually learned in class this semester.
