My Experience In Baruch- Michelle Gontar

My experience in Baruch was all that I expected it to be, very stressful. I came into Baruch after taking several AP courses, which were all rather difficult and time consuming, so I had an idea of what college was like. However, I seemed to not learn from my past mistakes, and continued to procrastinate on certain subjects. This lead to stress when it came down to writing papers or taking tests. I have learned that it really is important to keep track of when things are due and actually study without a test being a day away. Overall however, most of my classes were interesting, and it was nice to have enthusiastic teachers who actually knew about their subjects for a change. Socially I didn’t really interact with many people, but the people that I did talk to were nice and helpful. Next semester I might look into joining a club. My first semester  Baruch experience was stressful, but a learning experience, that I will try to take from when second semester approaches.

  1. Hi Mimi,

Thanks for your post. I think a number of your classmates can relate to the surprise around the amount of work required during this first semester. I’m confident you will adjust accordingly next semester. I also hope you find an organization that suits you – it’s a great way to meet new friends.

It was a pleasure having you in our FRO section.
