PHOTO

This photo, taken by Sammy, is the epitome of my Baruch experience so far. On the 10th of May during my senior year in high school, I came for orientation and chose to be in a Learning Community while closing a block of classes. This turned out to be way better than I ever thought it could and would be. We all have developed such enormous camaraderie and friendship during this first semester. I hope that we maintain such a bond for the rest of my Baruch life. (P.S. I’m sure I’m not the only one who chose this photo.)

Mishkin Art Gallery (sorry it’s late. Internet just started working.)

The Mishkin Art Gallery was really intriguing. There were photographs from many different cultures during the 20th century or so. None resonated with me on a really deep level, but they did inspire me. They made me realize that I should count all my blessings and always greatful for everything that I have in life. There were photographs of people are struggled on a daily basis. I am fortunate enough to be in a college like Baruch and being surrounded by such good people. I really enjoyed the Mishkin Art Gallery.

The “Baruch Experience”

This picture really explains my Baruch experience so far. I am so happy that I chose to be in a learning community. If I didn’t I would’ve never met the amazing people in this picture. I really had every intention of transferring out of this school but this first semester has actually been good, just might stay awhile lol. I have been introduced to people from such different backgrounds and it’s so funny how I just clicked with them. They made classes easier and a lot more fun. LC08 is really the best and they made my Baruch experience pretty great… Love these guys :’)

photo creds to guy in a suit who kept staring at us because we kept screaming about how much we loved each  other and how cute we are Lol

Mishkin Art Gallery

In all honesty, the Miskin Art Gallery trip had some ups and downs with me. Certain things I liked other things I didn’t. I think what I really didn’t like was all the talking. I’m more of a go and make my own interpretation person and ask questions later if I’m really interested. Overall I thought all the pieces were beautiful. And I want to be able to do or make something that gives people the same feeling the pictures gave me: Wow. There was one picture there that looked like a family member of mine and that image is stuck in my head. It looked like he was standing in some deserted area and his clothes were a mess, and the time it was taken makes it possible that it’s actually the family member I thought it was.. weird. I remember a lot from the trip but that picture is what really stuck.

My Experience at Baruch

It didn’t take me long to adjust to the college life here and fortunately I adapt easily; however, it did take me nearly the entire semester to get even remotely comfortable (on a personal level) with Baruch as a school and the city as a whole. I’m glad we have the opportunity to be apart of this block program because without our little freshman seminar group, I’d be very lost right now. I’m glad I chose to come to Baruch because though it takes me a while to get comfy, I know that once I really feel settled in, I will love it. So overall, my experience so far has been pretty good, passable, not bad, etc. Hopefully it will get better as time goes on.

Mishkin Gallery

If I’m going to be honest, my experience at the Mishkin Gallery was pretty boring overall. I was hungry and bored and wanted to leave. However, that’s not to say that the photographs on display weren’t exceptionally beautiful or impactful. I particularly enjoyed the creative section of gallery where photographs were turned into art. I for one have a soft spot for creative photography so I did like looking at the photos on display there. Hunger and boredom aside, seeing those photos made me want to get back into some photography myself.

Mishkin Art Gallery

I cannot tell a lie. The art gallery was very boring. It’s not that I wasn’t interested but our guide was kinda boring. But it was very interesting in regards to the artwork. I liked the various paintings that were there. They were very well painted though some of them lacked imagination. I wasn’t really inspired by the works that were there but I feel like if I had more time there I would’ve been able to connect more to the artwork. But all in all I would like to visit the Mishkin Art Gallery .

Photograph Reflection

This image describes my college experience thus far because I have never had constant 3-day weekends while in school. During the week all I can think about is that I have a 3-day weekend to look forward to. But, while I’m off I am able to reflect on what I experienced while I was at school that week. I now have even more appreciation for the weekends because, yes, I get to sleep later, and also reflect on how college has impacted me so far.

Mishkin Art Gallery

During our trip to the Mishkin Art Gallery I learned how pictures can captivate the current point in time. Many pieces of history will change over time but a picture will always stay constant. It displayed the importance that photography has on history and how it can completely captivate what was going on in that exact point in time.

I try not to be late but…..

My commute here is really bad. Not as bad as most other people but it’s still a long trip. I try not to be late but with the MTA and most of New York working against me it’s really hard for me to arrive to school on time. I’ve gotten better but it’s still a problem that I really have to deal with. These part three months have shown me the Manhattan is really a force to be reckoned with. If I don’t plan ahead for all the delays that the 4,5, and 6 train have then I’ll end up not getting to school at all.
