I’ve always had a problem when it comes to sleep, but ever since I came to Baruch, I noticed that it’s been much worse. I make sure I don’t sleep at night so I can concentrate on schoolwork, but in the end, I fall asleep in class, so its kind of pointless. I do wish i could regulate my sleeping schedule, but that’s kind of hard to do when finals are right around the corner.

I liked a lot of the artwork at the Mishkin gallery, but i thought the trip was kind of pointless. I liked how enthusiastic the guide was about the artist. I liked the anecdotes he added to the description of each painting. The paintings themselves were beautiful.
The trip overall was kind of bland, but now I know where the gallery is and I got to see some interesting paintings, so all in all, it was okay

1. Our theme was restaurants. Food is a common interest and we could tie it into many things. Plus, the New York Times was bound to have many interesting articles on food. I chose an article about an interesting restaurant in Shanghai, China that made your experience eating there one that you would never forget. I also wrote the Bearcat article. I talked about how someone would never have the full Baruch experience without having Chipotle.
2. I did my parts of the project on time and made sure the administrator for our group didn’t have to do extra work because of me.
3. The project helped me learn that there are interesting things in every section of the newspaper, not just the headlines. i would have never learned about the strange restaurant in China otherwise. I usually don’t read the food and wine section of the New York Times.

It may seem like I used a lot of pictures that have other people in them, but they’re all a big part of my life. The first picture on the upper left side is a picture of most of my cousins and my sister on my dad’s side of the family. We’re all really close. We grew up together like siblings. They all live in the neighborhood, so we see each other often. Incidentally, all of our names start with the letter F, with the exception of Phillip, who’s name sounds like it starts with an f, so it works out. The scary part is that none of it was planned out. It just happened. By the way, the cousin wearing red and gold is getting married in that picture.
The picture next to that on the right is a group picture from the Model United Nations Club at my high school. I joined in my junior year, but I already had some knowledge of the way the club worked. By the end of the year of my senior year, the club was like a family. Some of them are still my closest friends. I had a hard time adjusting to the pressure of my AP classes, and they helped me pull through. We all have the same sense of humor. The advisors were really great teachers too. They gave me great life advice. I miss the club and the members.
The next picture is the one on the left in the second row. It consists of the rest of my friends. They can cheer me up no matter what. They’re wacky, ridiculous, and honestly the best people anyone could ask to be friends with.
The picture to the right of that one is a picture of most of the group I like to call “my munchkins”. They’re all my cousins’ children, with the exception of the slightly older girl to the right of me. She’s my cousin Shetu, but she was raised more like a little sister. I watched the rest of them grow up. They loved me as babies, but now they’re grown up. They still hug me tightly whenever they see me. No matter how old they are, they’ll still be my little munchkins.
The next picture is the one on the left in the third row. It’s a picture of my sister and I as children. That picture basically defines our relationship. We don’t talk to each other much, but when we do get along, its to be silly and annoy our parents. That’s one of my favorite pictures because of our faces. I think it’s hilarious.
The picture to the right of that one represents tennis. It’s been a big part of my life since i stopped swimming. I play alot with my dad. It makes him happy because he likes spending time with us. He’s also proud since he introduced the sport to me, and I went far. I became the captain of the male tennis team at my school. Our school didn’t have enough money for a female team, so the coach let me join the boys team. I quickly rose in the ranks and eventually became captain in my senior year. We still faced other male tennis teams, but I held my ground. I still play once in a while.
The picture on the left in the last row is the collection of my favorite book series. Its not a college level series, but I began reading the books when I was in the fifth grade. After that, I would anticipate the release of a new book in the series. It ended five years after I discovered it, but to this day, it remains as one of my favorite series. It relates to Greek mythology, which I’ve had an interest in since I was a young girl. I’ve always loved the imagination of the greeks and I’ve always been astounded by how they used logic and everyday occurrences to explain the existence of the gods.
The last picture represents my love for anime. I’ve watched numerous shows in a variety of genres. Anime is similar to American TV shows. There are different genres and the characters have their own personalities. the only difference is that they’re in japanese and the characters aren’t real. I don’t see a real difference in anime and regular TV. I watch american shows and animes, and I’ll probably never give up on it. Anime is a huge part of my life.
