The playlist I created speaks to who I am. It consists of 10 songs, each by different artists and from completely different genres. I listen to a variety of music based solely on my mood. I do not have a favorite artist, band or genre. I believe no one artist can capture all my emotions in their music. These songs range from laid back music, to intense rap. For example, Eminem is one of my favorite rap artists because he captures a lot of intense and brutally honest emotions. Karen O also captures a lot of emotions, but in a very different musical sense. Her specific song Ooo is from her Crush Songs album that portrays her feelings in a very laid back and whimsical tone. Although these two artists use different methods to capture similar emotions, both contribute to who I am. Artists such as Kanye West, Jay-Z and Wale are also elements of who I am. I tend to listen to this type of music when driving or while pre-gaming. This music triggers a different part of my mood and personality. I tend to get hyped and have an adrenaline rush while listening to these artists, hence why I tend to speed and party to this music. Other songs, however, have more of a sentimental association that causes me to connect with them. For example, Ms. Jackson by Outkast is a very popular song. I was at a music festival with my best friends watching them perform and as this song started playing we all had a special puff puff pass moment. Every time I hear this song, it just reminds me of that day. In general all these songs conglomerate and in someway illustrate a part of my personality.
