I have never been very fond of roller coasters and other various amusement park rides. Any time I would even look at these rides my stomach would turn. My family always tried to pressure me into trying to go on one of these rides they told me it would be fun and I would love it. I always refused. Then one day, my brother and I went to a carnival with my aunt and uncle. My brother went on every ride possible while I stood there and watched. We eventually came across the infamous giant slides. My brother insisted to go on the slide; however, he needed an adult to go with him being that he was too small. My uncle started telling me at this point that I should try to go on too and that I would have fun. I kept refusing, but eventually he picked me up and carried me up me up the stairs to the top of the slide. At this point I was terrified and kept begging him to not make me go down this slide. He did not listen to me however because he was determined to show me that carnival rides were fun. Once he took me down the slide, my opinion about carnival rides still did not change. I hated them even more so at that point and still have never ventured onto another carnival ride again.

Mondays

Sunday night and everyone’s asleep but you. You’re probably on your phone or laptop, texting a friend, watching some shows, eating or all of the above. You know what day it is tomorrow, you get exhausted just thinking about. Ughh, you have class tomorrow, or maybe even work, maybe even both. You really don’t want this weekend to end whether it was fun or not. You start thinking, what did I even do today… Well it doesn’t matter cause you got to chill and relax, you rather be bored all day and do nothing  than go to class tomorrow. So you end up staying up all night, knowing that the sooner you fall asleep, the sooner Monday is going to be here and who wants that right? But you know what, a time finally comes when you’re finally tired and you just want to sleep, for however long you can. Then suddenly your friend hits you up and asks, “Did you do the English hw?” And you reply “There was English hw????” Sheer panic in a matter of seconds. You could either say fuck it and not do it, or stay up the rest of the night bs-ing this assignment. Ehh I guess I’ll do it. So now technically it is Monday by the time you finished the essay. It might not be the best, but you finished. You close your eyes for second for some rest. The sun hits your face and you wake up not well rested but sufficient. You look at the time and you already missed your first class of the day. Happy Mondays!!

The scars of a fearful nightmare
Spirits and demons trapped within the threads of my now grey washed shirt.
Just as I thought the nightmare would haunt me forever.
A light beamed in through through the window and bounced off my shirt .
The scars embedded on my shirt were running from the lights,
Like a clean slate, I woke up to a white shirt, ready to start fresh.
