The smell of the alcohol filled hand sanitizers to the constant beeping of heart monitors is what you are reminded of every time you visit the hospital. Working in the ER has exposed me to a lot of different people and injuries. This day at the hospital was a little different. There were way more people waiting in line to get registered to visit the ER. There were only two volunteers at the front desk, my friend and I. A man came in and didn’t look too good so I offered to get him a wheelchair. He said “I don’t need one, I just need to see a doctor” but there were people in front of him getting registered so he had to wait in line. A minute after there was a loud thump and I turned around to see that he had fallen unconscious onto the floor. “Someone get a doctor!” I heard someone yell. The doctors rushed out with a stretcher and took him to the ER. With all the stuff I have seen at the hospital, this was the most intense because no one was sure exactly what happened.
